QuestDB is a time-series database for mission-critical environments where every microsecond is accounted for. We started where the problem is hardest: the electronic trading floor, and built outward.
QuestDB began in eFX trading. Our team spent decades building low-latency execution and risk engines where dropped messages were unacceptable, latency was measured in nanoseconds, and data volumes reached millions of rows per second.
So we built the database the market wanted: a low-latency, vectorized storage and execution engine on open formats, standards and APIs, becoming the unified data layer underpinning AI agents. Today it runs at tier-1 banks, exchanges, market makers, hedge funds and energy operators across four continents, and is expanding into robotics, aerospace and Physical AI.
QuestDB is in production at leading firms across capital markets, digital assets, energy, aerospace, and robotics & Physical AI.

Started building QuestDB as a side project in 2014 to fix the time-series performance limits he kept hitting on those desks, and open-sourced it at the end of 2019.
