The role

You've built a product or helped bring one to market. You've figured out how to go from zero to traction — maybe through content, maybe by hacking discoverability, maybe by just showing up in the right Slack at the right time. You understand that early go-to-market is half storytelling, half puzzle-solving. You don't need a playbook — you've written a few.

At QuestDB, we're building the fastest open-source time-series database, purpose-built for time-critical data workloads. Our product is fast, our codebase is clean, and our traction is organic. Now we're looking for a GTM co-conspirator — someone who wants to build the distribution engine around an already great product.

We're looking for a builder. Someone who can own discoverability, community growth, partnerships, and ecosystem presence across GitHub, Reddit, Hacker News, and beyond. Someone who can connect the dots amongst content, technical docs, product marketing, discoverability, and strategic growth plays.

Responsibilities

This is a founding GTM role, so the scope is wide — and we want it that way. You'll partner directly with the CEO and be trusted to identify the highest-leverage areas for growth and own them end to end. A few of the areas you might touch:

• Make QuestDB easier to discover and understand — whether through content, search, GitHub optimization, or ecosystem visibility
• Design and run growth experiments that move the needle (and build the systems that make them repeatable)
• Help us grow and nurture a healthy open-source community across GitHub, Reddit, Hacker News, and other developer communities
• Shape how we show up in AI-native search — and make sure developers find us when they need us
• Identify high-leverage integrations or partnerships and help us plug into adjacent ecosystems
• Set up analytics, tracking, and feedback loops to make sure we're not guessing
• Help us refine positioning, narrative, and how we talk about new features, launches, and use cases
• Be a generalist, not a specialist — and take ownership of things you care about

We don't expect you to do all of the above on day one. What matters most is that you bring founder-level ownership, curiosity, and drive — and that you're excited to define the next phase of GTM at QuestDB.

Requirements

• You've been a founder or early hire at a developer tools, open-source, or infra startup
• You've touched multiple GTM surfaces: growth, content, product marketing, community, partnerships and owned outcomes
• You care about what moves users, not what makes slides look pretty
• You understand developer psychology: how they find tools, what earns their trust, what gets ignored
• You're tactical enough to run experiments and strategic enough to design loops
• You're energised by ambiguity and early-stage chaos
• You want to own something real, from the ground up

Nice to have

• You've launched products (or side projects) that appealed to developers
• You've worked with time-series data, databases, or performance-focused infra
• You've built a following or community around a technical product
• You write well, think clearly, and act fast
